Q2 2024 Android Performance for Top Film & Television Apps in the US

In the second quarter of 2024, the Film & Television category on Android devices saw varied performance among the top applications in the United States. Data from Sensor Tower provides insights into downloads and user engagement for these entertainment giants.

Disney+ experienced an upward trend in revenue, peaking at $61K in the final week of June. Downloads for the app showed a high in mid-April at 6.9M, but tapered off to 4.6M by the end of June. Weekly active users fluctuated, with a notable dip in early May to 387K, followed by a gradual rise to 423K towards the quarter's end.

Amazon Prime Video also saw a revenue increase, ending June at $30K. Downloads reached their highest point in mid-April with 7.5M, yet dipped to 5.1M by late June. The app's active users surged to 115K in late April but steadied around 107K by the quarter's end.

For SkyShowtime: Movies & Series, revenue saw a slight increase over the quarter, concluding at $10K. Downloads started strong at 6.5M but fell to 3.5M. Active user counts remained steady, hovering around 101K to 103K throughout the period.

Netflix, despite not generating revenue in the quarter, maintained a solid base of weekly active users, starting at 881K and ending at 805K. Downloads peaked in mid-April at 5.2M but saw a decrease to 4.2M by the quarter's close.

Lastly, HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies showed a mixed performance with revenue reaching $32K in late May before data became unavailable in June. Downloads peaked at 5.3M in late May, but no data was recorded after early June. Active users saw a rise in late May to 70K but dropped to 30K by the end of June.
